Delete my Cupsight account

Last updated: October 12, 2026.

This page explains how to delete your Cupsight account, and the data attached to it, in the Cupsight app for iPhone and for Android. It complements the privacy policy.

From the app, on iPhone and Android

  1. Open Cupsight, then the app's Settings.
  2. In the Account section, tap "Delete my account".
  3. Read what will be deleted, then confirm.

Deletion is permanent. It works for an account signed in with Apple (iPhone) or with Google (Android), and also for the anonymous account the app creates automatically when you use the AI, Discover or sharing. If your app version is old and only shows the button for a signed-in account, update the app or write to us (below).

Without the app, by email

Write to contact@cupsight.app with the subject "Delete my Cupsight account". Give your Cupsight username or the email address of your Apple or Google account, so that we can find your account. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours. We process the request, including the erasure of your PostHog data, within one month at most.

An anonymous account with no username or email cannot be found from the outside: if you still have it, delete it from the app.

What is deleted

On our server, deletion erases:

  • your profile (username, avatar, declared gear);
  • the coffees you published and their photos;
  • your published recipes, your coffee ratings, your recipe tries;
  • your follows, your followers and your notifications;
  • your brews shared to improve recommendations;
  • the devices registered for notifications;
  • your feedback messages, profile reports included;
  • your AI usage counters and the gear suggestions tied to your account;
  • your usage measurement data at PostHog (the person attached to your account, its events and its session recordings): erasure is requested from PostHog automatically, and PostHog then carries it out on its side, which can take a few days;
  • finally the account itself (identifier, and the email and name if Apple or Google provided them). On iPhone, with an Apple account, we also ask Apple to revoke the "Sign in with Apple" authorization.

What remains

  • The data on your phone. Your coffees, brews, recipes and photos are yours, on your device: deleting the account does not touch them. To erase them, delete them in the app or uninstall the app.
  • Your backup copies. Those in your iCloud (iPhone), in Android's automatic backup and in the folder you chose are managed with those services.
  • Usage measurement data (PostHog). It is erased automatically with the account, unless the request to PostHog fails (rare): in that case, write to us at contact@cupsight.app with your account identifier if you know it, or your username, and we will have it erased.
  • A content report stored for moderation may be kept, with no further link to you. Roaster entries added to the shared catalog also remain, with no link to you.

Afterwards, you can keep using the app without an account: a new anonymous account is only created if you use a feature that goes through the server again.
